Mitsubishi Repair: 1994 plymouth colt/mitsubishi mirage, plymouth colt, colt mitsubishi

Question
I just bought a 1994 plymouth colt base model, it has the 1.5L engine, manual trans and runs great. But sometimes it will idle funny. When idleing it will go up and down. I was told something about a hose that reads air flow into the engine and sometimes will get plugged. If yu have any suggestions it would be very helpfull

Answer
Dustin,
A bouncing idle is a condition called idle surge.  It can be caused by a number of conditions.  A typical one is a faulty idle air controller, also called the idle speed controller.  It's attached to your throttle body and regulates the idle speed once your engine has reached normal operating temperatures.  You can have your mechanic inspect that and replace it if necessary.
Good luck!
