Mitsubishi Repair: 99 Galant stalling, mitsubishi galant, foot on the gas

My car starts up great and runs great. When I start it first thing in the morning it starts fine, but after I back out of my driveway and stop to shift into drive, it stalls and I have to restart it and hold my foot on the gas for a few moments to keep it running. After that it runs great. And if I turn it off later in the day and restart it the problem doesn't happen. It only happens the first time I start it in the morning. What could it be?

Kevin: Have the computer coded to see if might kick out the problem for you, as it controls everything in that car. Then check to make sure the fuel pump is putting out enough fuel, as there would be a build up of fuel so the car would start good in the morning but then the pressure would have to be build up again. So I would say that your fuel pump is getting weak or going bad. But it can be tested so get a shop to check that for you. God bless: Linda
