My 2000 Mitsubishi Galant just went dead. It will turn over but will not start. what could be wrong

Hope: Are you sure the battery is giving enough power to push the starter hard enough to turn the engine over. I mean your battery could have a bad cell in it, I would check that to make sure the battery is putting out enough volts. When the engine is turning over is it turning the drive belt? You need to get someone to watch that belt to see if it is turning, if not then could be the timing chain has broken. If the drive belt turns, then have the car coded to see what the computer might explain is going on with the car. Next would be check the fuel pump to make sure it is bring enough fuel to the engine to start it. There is a pressure test that can be done, easy test and should not be to costly. The thing is it could be one of many things that are wrong with the car. You need to get it into a shop and have them check it over. God bless: Linda
