Mitsubishi Repair: mitsubishi vr4 april/1993 air conditioning, mitsubishi vr4, voltage meter

Question
After car was stolen, we put a steering column in, (used) and alot of fuses were taken out as well. We replaced all fuses and now every time the car is started, the a/c automatically turns on, does not matter the initial setting. No TSB's on it (All Data). Have to manually turn it off every time its starts. Any thoughts.  Joe.

Answer
Joe's Smog Shack: I would say you have wires crossed in the steering column. You would have to get yourself a repair manual for your car, as it would have the wire diagram you need to check the wires and how they run through that steering column but also a voltage meter which would help find the problem too. As you are going to have to find where the voltage is crossing when you turn the car on and so the a/c comes on. But pretty sure it would be some kind of a short. Other wise you will need to take the car to a shop and let them find the problem there. God bless: Linda
