Mitsubishi Repair: 2000 Eclipse wont start, pressure test, fuel pump

Question
I am trouble shooting a no-start on my daughter's 2000 Eclipse.  The battery seems strong and the car turns over fine but will not start.  I pulled a plug wire and grounded it to the engine and got a spark during turnover.  I suspect a bad fuel pump.  Does this make sense to you and is there any way to verify a bad pump before I spend $150 on a new pump?  Thank you in advance for your help.

Answer
David: You can do a pressure test on the fuel pump to make sure it is putting out enough fuel. You will have to go to a shop or dealership to do this. As you have to have the right gauge for your car and then know the right amount of pressure your car should be putting out. It is not a costly test, easy to do but there is a few things you need to know about it too, so the shop or dealership is the way to go. God bless now: Linda
