The maint reg light came on at exactly 2hundered thou miles. Bought used last year not knowing the history I am
going to do tune up timing belt and water pump cannot locate chilton repair manual.3500 v6 Any thing I need to pay special attention to ? Still waiting for timing belt and tensioner.Car runs with a miss at 206 thousand miles.
Driving the gas out now before fuel filter replacement.

Ward: Does the car burn oil or heat? What color is the smoke coming out of the exhaust? If white you might have a bad head gasket. Would be good to get the car coded, the computer would explain what that light came on for. You can either get a meter and check it yourself or got an AutoZone close by they will code it for free. Should but maybe now to late would be good to check to make sure the fuel pump is putting out enough fuel, an easy test but I wonder if the fuel pump has ever been replaced? Still a good tune up might do wonders, you might just have a bad stark plug is all. Might try to order a Haynes repair manual for your car, I like them better than Chilton.
