Mitsubishi Repair: 1998 Mitz. 3000 Gt Sl, transmission filter, transmission fluid

Will be driving my car than sometimes it starts jolting , like it is stuck in gear not wanting to shift to the next. I have to shift to up to neutral than back into drive for it to not zonk out.. My car is a automatic.

Trisha: You need to get the car into a shop, get the fluid and transmission filter replaced to see if that might help this. Also have the shop put in some transmission conditioner too which should help so much. Then you should have the car coded to see what the computer might tell you is going on, got an AutoZone close by? They will code your car for free. Did you know the computer controls how your car shifts? Also have you every checked the transmission fluid? Is it a good  color of pink? Or pink and brown. I really think you need to get that transmission fluid, fiter changed and get some of the conditioner added to see if that might help with the shifting. Please don't put this off, or the computer will put your car into a safety mode, where the car will not shift out of second. God bless: Linda
