Mitsubishi Repair: Intermittent Heat, waterpump, good god

The heat in my 2003 Eclipse only works intermittently.  When the car is running in gear there is heat, but as soon as you idle in traffic or are stopped it starts to blow cold air.  Once you are moving again hot air starts blowing again

Michele: I would have the thermostat check, along with the water pump drivebelt as it could be out of adjustment or need to be replaced and could be your waterpump is getting old so it needs to be replaced. So you should get the car into a shop or dealership to have these things checked out. Because should it be your waterpump if that goes out, your car could over heat which would not get good.
