Mitsubishi Repair: rotors, cotter pin, eclipse gt

Question
how do i get the front rotors off an 07 eclipse gt   there is a castle nut with cotter pin on hub   i took out pin but the castle nut wont budge

Answer
Dave,
I'm not familiar with the brake setup on the latest generation of Eclipses.  But in my experience with replacing rotors on older Eclipses and several other vehicles, the castle nut holds the axle to the hub, and is not holding on the rotor.  On most cars I've dealt with, the rotors are simply held on by the caliper or sometimes a small screw.  On most occasions, the rotors would be rusted to the hub and required a few sharp blows with a mallet to loosen them.

But like I said, I'm not too familiar with such a new Eclipse so you may want to ask on some Eclipse forums for confirmation.
Good luck!
