Mitsubishi Repair: windshield wipers, 2003 mitsubishi diamante, mitsubishi diamante

My car is a 2003 Mitsubishi Diamante LS V6. I want to know the process in removing the wiper arms so I can replace the cowl vents.  There is a nut on each wiper arm, but the arms wont pry off.  What is the preceedure?  Thanks

I'm not familiar with setup on that year of Diamante, but I have removed wiper arms in the past and they all have been extremely difficult to remove.  The are placed on very tightly from the factory to prevent them from slipping.  Plus, if any rust has formed around it, that would also cause it to stick.  You may have luck spraying some penetrating oil on the bolt and gently try to pry it off.  If you don't feel you can remove it yourself without breaking anything, have a mechanic do it.  It would be a lot cheaper having a mechanic do it than paying for damages you may make doing it yourself.
