Mitsubishi Repair: wet driver side floorboard, drain tube, hot days

Question
I bought a used 2004 Mits. Endeavor ELS and I love it so far except yesterday I notice my floorboard was wet on the drivers side and today it is soaked and I am not sure what would cause this?

Answer
Michelle,
This can be caused if you run your air conditioning frequently.  Normally, the water that forms from condensation at the evaporator behind the dashboard drains through a tube and drips outside the car.  This is why you'll see small water puddles under cars that have been running the A/C on hot days.  Sometimes those drain tube can get clogged and water backs up and overflows inside the car and can get the floorboards wet.  You should have a mechanic inspect the drain tube a clear if out if it's clogged.  This may be as simple as them using compressed air to clear the clog.  Else, the mechanic would need to get to the heater box behind the dash and look for the clog.
Good luck!
