Mitsubishi Repair: changing alternator belt, tension bolt, mitsubishi sigma

Question
the belt broke off my 1994 Mitsubishi sigma. i have another 1 the same size but cant get it on because its too tight. is there a tension bolt or something?

Answer
Deejay,
There is typically an adjustment screw/bolt on the alternator and also a main tension bolt on the bracket holding the alternator.  If you loosen these bolts, you should be able to slide the alternator in enough to be able to get the new belt on.
Good luck!
