Mitsubishi Repair: Magna fuel pump, wheel bearing, black boxes

Question
I have a 90 magna 2.6 liter that fails to start sometimes. I have checked the
fuel pump and it is not working when the car won't start. Then if I leave it
sometime or just keep trying it starts and runs just fine. Could it be the relay?
Where is that and how can I check it?

This car also has a klunking noise coming from the back left wheel when I
drive. It dose not seem to be the shocks, as it seems to be coming from the
wheel could it be a loose wheel bearing or in the disk brake

Answer
Flint: I would have the car coded to see what the computer might tell you is going on with the starting. The computer controls everything in your car, along with sensors through the engine. Oh yes, there would be a fuel relay, in those black boxes in with the engine. The black box should be one up close to the firewall on the driver-side of the car, when you are standing in front of the car and have the hood open looking at the engine. There are large fuses and relays in there, on the cover of that box should explain what is in it and some cars have one over by the battery too. If you do find a bad relay and so replace it. Be sure to take the neg cable off the battery, replace the relay and put the cable back on. Other wise you will be doing it all again. As for the sound you are hearing could be one of the anti-rattle clip has broken. So I would take the car to a shop and have that checked out to make sure it is that; if not then find out what it might be. Hope this helps and God bless: Linda
