Mitsubishi Repair: mitsubishi magna TR 86 model, mitsubishi magna, headlamp bulbs

Question
My mates car park brake lights work but the low and high beam cuts in and out. the 100a alt fusible link was melted and was replaced with a new one.but prob still persist with the lights.

Answer
Ben,
If the alternator fuse was carrying enough current to cause it to melt, then there is an excessive power draw from something.  If the headlamp bulbs being used are overrated, then it can cause this excessive power draw and it can prevent the high or low beams from coming on. You should also look for any wiring that may be shorting out.  If there is a bare wire and shorting to ground, it can cause this large current draw.  Check the wiring and you may find the cause of your problem.
Good luck!
