Trying to find the horns under hood to replace, apparently mechanic said badly rusted and need replacing.  Can I pick up a generic set of horns for replacement and where in the world are they on my 1999 montero sport?

Brian: You might be able to pick up an horn for your car at a junk yard, for cost. Other wise you will have to check the net for a generic set for your car. Those horns have to be down front of the engine. They don't look like what we think a horn should look like, they are a round black thing. They should be mounted on either side of the radiator, but listen all cars are a bit different for the spots. But still open the hood and look around either side of that radiator. You should see them. If you get that repair manual, it would show you where they are.  But then you get a repair manual for your car at any parts store for around $20.00 and that would show you where they are. What they look like. If they are rusted thought, they will be hard to get out. Hope you got tools, time and place to work. Hope this helps some and good luck! Linda
