Mitsubishi Repair: Mitsubishi Triton 1992 V6 petrol MJ, mitsubishi triton, fuel pump

Hi I have a triton 1992 V6 petrol MJ it is just cutting out while i am driving along it usally fires again straight away but today it did'nt i had to leave it sitting for about 15 mins then it started no problems I took it to a mechanis and he put it on a computer and said he had no codes for it so he could,nt help me do you have any suggestions Please Help Michelle

Michelle: Go to a different shop and have them test your fuel pump. It sounds like a problem with the fuel pump. You know don't you that you should not get the tank down to below 1/4 of a tank because the fuel is what keeps the fuel pump cool. If you run the tank all the way down to empty to much, the pump will get cooked. But I know with the high cost of fuel, people are trying to get all they can out of a tank of gas. But got to be careful with the pump too, any shop can test the pressure the fuel pump is putting out, and they should know what pressure your pump should be doing. God bless: Linda
