Mitsubishi Repair: 2002 Mitsubishi Lancer, nuts and bolts, mitsubishi lancer

Question
Ok Be honest, how much of a nightmare would it be for me to put a Turbo in my stock 2002 Lancer ES. Do i have to put a whole different engine in it?

Answer
Matt,
You do need to replace the engine.  There are turbo kits available for your car.  They usually run about $3000, but they contain all the parts necessary to get a turbo installed.  These are bolt-on kits, and if you have a good deal of experience with working on your car, this may be a job you can tackle yourself.  This can be a nightmare if you have lots of rust nuts and bolts and end up causing damage during the install.  Bending or breaking a fuel or brake line  can definitely halt the turbo upgrade.

But if you're not comfortable installing it yourself and you're willing to spend the money, you can have a mechanic install it for you.
Good luck!
