Mitsubishi Repair: someone help me!, kinds of sensors, plymouth laser

Question
i have a plymouth laser 2.0 turbo,1990.  i am not getting any fuel
out of the injectors, and or are not firing, when i turn the key i
get fuel to the rail, so its not the pump, but thats as far as the
fuel goes.  i had did a lot of research and havent narrowed my
problem down far enough yet.  I belive that it may either be the cas
(cam angle sensor) or the computer, how can i test each to see what
it is? and would it even be the computer, the car turns over just
doesnt start cuz its not getting fuel, it happened all of a
sudden....are there any sensors that go bad that would make this
happen? if so what ones? and how do i test it. please help me!
thanks for your time

Answer
Nick: The cam angle sensor is in the distributor cap, you replace that you replace the sensor. But your problem sounds more like the computer, your car is the right year for those bad computers too. You can get the computer tested by coding it. Need a repair manual and a voltmeter, or else get one of those repair manuals for sensors it would help you test the computer to see if it is bad. The computer controls very thing on your car, with the help of all kinds of sensors. You could try turning the distributor cap, to the left or to the right, see if the car will start. Oh one other thing have you ever replaced the timing belt on this car, are you sure that it did not break? How did you come up with the cam angle sensor or the computer idea? You could take the computer out and have it coded, but most people get the computer coded still in the car. It would then kick out whatever problem it is picking up in the system. I hope this helps and God bless: Linda
