Mitsubishi Repair: montero wont start, fuel pressure regulator, pump fuel

Question
we have a 95 montero it cranks but will not start it appears to not be firing on two of the coil packs, coil packs have been checked and are good, ecm is good. it has been taken to a mechanic who is at a total loss as to why it won't start. any one have any ideas

Answer
Carol,
I'm not sure what more advise I could offer since your mechanic seems at a loss.  I would ask if he checked your fuel system.  This includes your pump, fuel filter, fuel injectors and fuel pressure regulator.  If particular cylinders are not firing, it can be caused by lack of air or lack of fuel.  Ask your mechanic if he checked those items.
Good luck!
