I still have the same problem, it will crank but not start up right away. then after a couple of tries it starts up, also it has on a few occassions died out on me while driving it. please help

Answer
Sam: I would have the computer coded to see what it might kick out at you. This sounds like a weak or bad sensors someplace; or even a problem with your computer. The computer gets readings from all kinds of sensors through out the engine before it will set up the right air, stark and fuel mix to start the car and to keep it going down the road. If one of those sensors or more is bad or weak; the computer thinks everything is fine so trys to run the car as before. But it does not work this time. The computer controls everything in that car, everything. From the way it shifts, to the engine and even somewhat the car's radio. I think I would get the crank sensor checked, could be that shop replaced the fuel pump for no other reason then it is a costly job. But then also you should have the fuel pump tested sometimes you can get a bad new fuel pump. Or they could have used a rebuilt one and so it could be bad. Have the pressure test done on the fuel pump to make sure it is putting out enough pressure to run your car. When is the last time you did a good tune up on this car? Got an AutoZone close by, you could have the car coded for free there to see if thing is kicked out by the computer. I wish I could pin point what is the problem but in most cases it could be anything. So try this and I hope it helps: God bless: Linda
