Mitsubishi Repair: transaxle on 91 eclipse gsx, eclipse gsx, drive axle

Question
I have a 1991 Eclipse GSX and I have to replace the drivers side transaxle, put the end in the transmission is stuck in there. the majority of the drive axle (I think that is what it is called) snapped off of the piece that is in the transmission. What is the quickest and easiest way for me to get it out. I have to be to work in 4 hours, please help.

Answer
Bobby,
If you have a piece of the spline of the axle stuck in the transmission, there is no easy way to get it out unless you're able to get a puller on the remnant and pull it out.  But if you cannot access it with a puller or able to gentle pry it out with a screwdriver, you may need to open up the tranny case and retrieve the fragment that way.  Sorry I don't have better news.
Good luck!
