Mitsubishi Repair: 2000 Montero Sport battery and fuse box ticking, montero sport, fuse box

Question
I had the battery on my '00 Montero Sport replaced lass than 3 months ago due to sluggish starts. Everything was fine, but we had some very cold, rainy weather lately and my engine won't turn over. The all lights are dimly lit, however, the alarm did sound when I set the battery charger up to trickle charge the battery. From that point on, a ticking noise similar to the tick from the second hand of a clock started to come from the fuse box located beside the battery. When I open the passenger front door the ticking stopped. When I close it, it starts to tick again. I know I can't leave the door open because the light on the bottom of the door will take what little charge the battery is getting. Can you help me shed some light on this problem? I hope I've provided enough informatoin. Thank you.

Answer
Hi, I'm more then sure it is a relay. I would replace the relay that is making the ticking sound and see where this leaves you. Have somebody open and close the door while you listen to where the noise is coming from. If you can't figure it out then put your figure on each relay at a time and you can feel what one is clicking. I hope this helps thanks again,Kevin
