Mitsubishi Repair: 2004 mitsubishi lancer es, filter need, mitsubishi lancer

Question
my 2004 mitsubishi lancer is having a hard time getting up to speed when it does a small raddle noise starts and sounds like it is coming somewhere near the timing belt,The car then feels like it wants to slow down. Ive had the timing belt changed and the AC belt changed and tried cleaning out the throttle body but it has not helped any and there is no check engine light on?

Answer
James: Some shop did the timing belt work for you, take the car back to them and tell them of the noise coming from that area. They might not have got something tighten right, so something is coming loose in there. Also have the fuel pump tested, it is a easy test. Could be your fuel pump is going out or maybe the fuel filter need to be changed. Could be the belts were not tighten right too, if this sound is coming from around the belt area. If you are thinking something to do with the throttle body, then it could be your fuel pump or filter. You know don't you that the fuel is what keeps the pump cool, with the high cost of fuel we are replacing a lot of pumps right now. Because people run their tanks down to empty, which with time will cook that pump. So get that tested too. When is the last time you did a tune up on this car, that might be another thing to do too. I hope this helps and God bless: Linda
