Mitsubishi Repair: 90 Mitsubishi Precis, mitsubishi precis, check fuel

QUESTION: I have a 90 precise and it was driving fine and i made a stop, shut the car off and tried to start it 5 min later and all it does is turn over...i put new fuel filter and fuel pump...but still wont fire...if i spray starting fluid in it will try to start...any suggestions...car only has 75000 miles on it.

ANSWER: OK If engine turns over quickly but don't start lets first check the obvious.   Are you out of gas lol? When trying to start the engine does it turn over faster then normal? If no then lets check the air filter and see if it is clogged or really dirty. Is it dirty? If Yes Change it If no Does it only happen in wet conditions? If no then I would say check fuel pump. Now you say you replaced it then I would have to say that it is a electronic sensor.

The Other thing I would test is to make sure that your getting spark in all your plug wires if you are I would then check the plugs to see if there black, If they are replace them and try it. QUESTION: ok i have gas coming out of main line running into fuel rail...turned car over with hose off and it prayed...just put new spark plugs in it new aircleaner...i checked timing turned motor over and made sure it was at top dead center and checked roter on distributer...seemed to be inline...new cap and roter...distributer seems to be rusty inside...getting spark...spray fluides in intake and it will fire and run for a sec...it is fuel injected...i can fix most thing if i no what is broken...trouble shooting cars is the hard part...any help would be great....

OK this seams to be only 3 problems to me. One would be your fuel injectors are bad or clogged. Or check your power going to your injectors. Something tells me that it would be a sensor problem. Did the car act up at all before it would not start? Did it seam like there was lack of power? Is this car manual or automatic? Can you smell fuel while trying to crank it over?
