Mitsubishi Repair: 2001 Eclipse spyder GT Clutch, eclipse spyder, first hope

Wondering what is the average cost of a new clutch or what I should do.  Clutch is slipping while in gear. Car seems to loose some power.  Not sure what I should pay.  Please advise.

David: Why are you thinking clutch, it could be that you have a leak in the system as the clutch is run with hydraulic and an oil that runs through that system. Have you checked the oil to see if it is leaking any or low. The box would be up in the same area with the brakes. Or where you would check the brake fluid. I would see about that. There is also a recall on your car to do with the clutch so you could check into that. But also this will be costly, a clutch would run about $500.00 and then the labor. So you might be looking at about $1000.00 for the job but then maybe less too. I have no idea your area or what they charge there. You need to check around and see what you can come up with. But still put the car into a shop and have them check the whole system. Because it could be something other than the clutch, something not so costly so I would do that first.
