Mitsubishi Repair: 1995 mitsubishi eclipse turbos revolution has gone crazy, mitsubishi eclipse, french guy

Question
Hi,
Just to make you know I have worked all summer to get this answer but no one can give me. I've spent a lot of money in garage but they don't know. OK the prob is that the rev of the car goes from 1200 to 1800 rapidly and that without me touching anything. I've checked the air flow, I've changed the TPS (little black thing around the throttle body) (I'm sure you know what I'm talking about :). but after these checks nothing changed. the rev is really gone crazy. sometimes its 2500 and its even been to 3500 in a car congestion due to traffic. But in major part of the time its just goes from 1200 to 1800 on its own and wont ever stop until i stop the car and wait like a day to restart it. But on that next day after like 5 min it will start again to go from 1200 to 1800 rpm. I wanna know if i change the throttle body will that stop the prob? Some people have suggested me to check the sensors can that be the problem?. I pray that you know how to answer my question and that you know exactly what it is because its getting all my money to repair and when no one knows the prob its really frustrating.

Sry for my English because I'm actually a french guy that is learning English at college. I come from Quebec Canada.

Sebastien: I think you need to get this car coded, that is where a shop will hook your car's computer up to their inshop computer, to see what the computer might kick out at them. Well print out at them, as the computer controls everything in your car, that is everything. It does this by getting readings off many sensors through out the engine. Could be one of those or more sensors is sending out the wrong reading, so the computer is causing your car to rev as it does. But also your car is the right age for the bad computers too. Mitsubishi farmed out the building of their computers to another company, that company did not build very good ones. As piece in the computer will start to leak into the computer and with time it will kill off that computer. So it could be your car's computer is bad, so you really need to code the car. It would explain a lot, you could try taking the computer out. Once you get close to that computer, you can sometimes smell the burnt smell from it. Then you start the car, have you ever heard a noise  coming from the computer or in that area? Still if not the computer then I would go with a bad sensor, weak one or maybe more. There is a sensor in the throttle body, which might be causing your problem too. Still if the computer is bad, replacing the throttle body would not fix your problem. So try the coding and see where that might lead you. And keep me posted on your car. Hope this helps and God bless: Linda
