Mitsubishi Repair: 2007 Mitsubishi Endeavor Misfire, 2007 mitsubishi endeavor, mitsubishi endeavor

Question
Hi, Approx. 6 months ago my engine light went on. I took it to the dealer and was told it was a cylinder misfire    ( P0300). I always use premium fuel. Well it happened again, though this time the code was (P0305). The mechanic told me to go to a different gas station. Give me a break. They are all rated 91 octane. So I went to the gas company he suggested and within 150km it happened again...the engine light went on. That shoots down his bad gas theory. Well it's Christmas day and I'll be going back to the dealer as soon as they open. Does anyone have any suggestions on stopping the misfiring from happening? I've heard that it could be spark plugs, wires or a cylinder problem.

Answer
Hey Ross: I would ask to do a tune up on your car. I see it is pretty new though, but still it sure would not hurt the car any and listen I would raise a bit of hell with that dealership. There has to be a problem that the computer is picking up as to kick the light on. Sounds like the dealership is trying to pass the buck. I would also have the coil checked too; on the cylinder that is miss firing as the coil could be bad. Still I think a tune up is in order. No matter how new the car is. You paid good money for that car and you have a right to have one that is running good. No check engine light, thank you. I really don't think your problem is the fuel problem. And you need to get that point across to the dealership. As you said given me a break! Hope this helps and Merry Christmas: Linda
