Mitsubishi Repair: mitsubishi pajero, glow plugs, sensor light

Question
my pajero is very hard to start and the a/t(air temperature sensor) light is on when i switch on the ignition does this mean i need to replace the sensor so the glow plugs heat up to start the car or is there anything else i can do or check for ?

Answer
Simon: I would say that sounds like your problem. You could have the car coded to see what the computer would kick out about that light, could be you need to replace that sensor. You would be surprised how much that sensor would help in starting the car. As it tells the computer what the temp is outside when you are trying to start the car. Right now with a bad sensor the computer thinks it is very warm and does not think it needs to help the engine gets started. So yes you need to replace that sensor and that would help turn on those glow plugs so to help the car start better. As I said have the car coded, it would show if there is any other problem in the system. Hope this helps and God bless: Linda
