Many owners of 3G Eclipses report that their center dash speaker has blown out.  Most do not bother replacing it, as a factory replacement cost about $100.  Also, if you have an aftermarket radio head unit in the car, the center speaker is useless.

But if you really want to remove it, you have to pull the clock pod firmly towards you and it'll eventually come out. Pull straight toward the back of the car. It is only held on by clips.
