Question
i own a 1991 Eagle talon TSI turbo all wheel drive which has the same setup as the eclipse of that year. My Ebrake is LOOSE. it is all play no matter how far i pull it. How do i tighten it up. I looked in chilton and it says dig into the console. how do i get into the console.

Answer
Jason: Look I have no idea what the heck an ebrake is? Are you talking about the parking brake on your car? I would say you will have to replace the cable that controls the parking brake, not sure that you can tighten it up, as I think the cable has let go or is broken. You can check with your Chilton manual and it will explain how to take the console apart, as to check the cable hooked to that end of the handle but if you have to have that cable replaced I would let a shop do that for you. Because it is not an easy job. Ok, checked with my manual, it does say you can take the console out, well remove it but you will have to check in another chapter of your manual to do this. Then you can loosen or tighten the adjusting nut until the desired travel is attainted. Tighten the nut and re-install the console. But if that does not fix your problem then the cable is bad or broken will have to be replaced. Hope this helps and God bless: Linda
