Mitsubishi Repair: 3000GT stuttering during hard acceleration, good shape, fuel pump

Question
Hey, i am having trouble with my car when i try to accelerate. The car seems to stutter, or doesn't seem to go any faster unless i get of the gas and slowly accelerate. I know my clutch isn't slipping because that doesn't make a stuttering feeling. And my car runs just fine it has less than 85k miles on it. I just can't find out whats wrong with the car? maybe the belts? maybe new fuel filter?

Answer
Dao: Are you someone who runs the car down to empty before filling it up? As the fuel in the car is what keeps the fuel pump cool, so if you do that enough with time you will burn out the fuel pump. Any shop can check the fuel pump to make sure it is putting out enough fuel for your car. If the pump is fine, I would say maybe a good tune up would be in order. When is the last time you did a tune up on your car? You could also check those belts are they in good shape, once you get the fuel pump checked out you will know if you should change the fuel filter. Also I would have the car coded, as you might have a bad or weak sensor someplace too. I hope this helps and God bless: Linda
