Mitsubishi Repair: Diamante Engine woes?, blown head gasket, 2000 mitsubishi diamante

I have a 2000 Mitsubishi Diamante 122, and i jus recently got this car . ANd its burning oil cause when open the oil cap smoke comes out. My engine light just came on and white smoke is coming out of the exhuast. Do you know what the problem could be and how repair cost would be on this vehicle? thanks

Quin: Got to say that white smoke coming out of the exhaust is not a good sign. As it sounds like your car might be letting water get into the oil, so the engine is really burning a mix of water and oil. That would mean you have a blown head gasket or one that is getting weak. You really, really need to get this car to a shop, like right now. And have this checked out. Because you do not want to blow the engine. And I would get getting after whoever you got this car from, because it sounds like to me; that this was a problem with the car before you got it. A blown head gasket would be very costly but still I would have it checked out. Keep an eye on the water too, don't let the car over heat. I hope this helps and God bless: Linda
