Mitsubishi Repair: Car stays idling, mitsubishi galant, 2002 mitsubishi galant

Have a 2002 mitsubishi galant when I crank the car (cold engine) it idles and when engine warms up it still stays reved-up. When you put in gear (reverse or drive) it shoots off. How do fix this problem? Is it a do-it-your-self.  Jorge

Jorge: Sounds like something is stuck in the throttle so that it is not slowing down like it should be. You need to either go out and by yourself a repair manual on your car, they cost around $20.00 at most parts stores. Then you could read up on the problem and see if you think you might fix it. Other wise you need to get that car into a shop and have that fixed. It should not be a costly fix just that you need to get that fixed before it gets worse. Hope this helps and God bless: Linda
