Mitsubishi Repair: radio problem, mitsubishi service, radio problem

Question
Hi, I have a 2000 galant and recently replaced the battery. I have the code that gets it working but I have to use this code everytime I turn the ignition switch off and back on. I have already checked to make sure the kam wire is staying hot with the key switch off and it is. Do you think my radio needs to be looked at or is there such a thing as reflashing it with a mitsubishi service laptop?

Answer
Mark: I have heard from a lot of people that after they put in a new battery, their radios go to code. Not sure why, but it has to be a problem with the computer or maybe the radios. Most get ahold of Mitsubishi to get the right code for the radios and must work because I do not hear anything back from them. I would have the radio looked at, just to be on the safe side of things. And I don't know if reflashing it with a Mitsubishi service laptop would help it or not. I guess you will have to decide that yourself. There has to be a problem with the radio in that it is not understanding that you have coded it and therefore it should not have to be coded everytime. I hope this helps and God bless: Linda
