Mitsubishi Repair: 02 Mitsubishi Diamante, exhaust gas recirculation, mitsubishi diamante

Question
I just brought my mits diamante to the deq and it didnt pass. They said that the exhaust gas recirculation flow was insufficient and the exhaust gas recirculation circuit was malfunctioned. My 'service engine soon' light is on as well. Would you know how much I am looking at in repairs to just get it passed through deq?

Answer
Kim: With the service engine soon light is on, the computer has picked up a problem in the system and so kicked on that light. The best bet is to have the car coded, as that would explain the problem with the service light. AutoZone will do this for free if you got one of those around your area.As for fixing the car, being it could be anything but I am guessing maybe a or more 02 sensor but again no idea what those will cost for your car. If you don't have an AutoZone then find a shop that will code the car free but then will replace whatever sensor(s) is out. That will save you some money anyway. Linda
