Mitsubishi Repair: 1992 DIAMANTI - V-6, kick panel, right computer

WHERE IS THE TCU LOCATED ON THIS VEHICLE?  THE ECM IS BEHIND THE RIGHT KICK PANEL,  THE TRANS IS STUCK IN 2ND.  I REPLACED THE COMPUTER A WHILE BACK TO FIX ANOTHER PROBLEM.  THE CAR SAT UP FOR A COUPLE OF MONTHS. WHEN I STARTED IT UP, IT ONLY HAD ONE GEAR.

David: Have you check the fluid in the transmission as to the color and does it smell burnt? I would change the transmission fluid first as well as the filter. But also go to your part stores, buy some conditioner for the transmission, add that with the fluid as you change things. It could be that your car's transmission is stuck in a gear because it sat for a while, needs the fluid changed and you sure the computer you put in your car was the right one for your car? Some people go down to the junk yard buy a computer they think will work and then wonder why it does not. You got to have the right computer for your car's engine and year. So try the changing of the fluid, filter and put in the conditioner to see how that might help your transmission. Oh hey I would go buy a repair manual for your car most parts stores have them, they cost around $20.00. Hope this helps and good luck! Linda
