Mitsubishi Repair: engine stall in put in gear, car vacuum, vacuum leak

Question
i have a 1990 montero and when i start it, it start fine and the idle is ok around 800 rpm but everytime i put it in gear the rpm just drop and the engine died

Answer
Jade: Right from my repair manual as to things to check on your car. Idle speed incorrect, fuel filter clogged and/or water and impurities in the fuel system, need to replace the distributor cap, faulty emssions system components, faulty or incorrectly gapped spark plugs, faulty stark plug wires(when is the last time you did a good tune up on this car?), vacuum leak. You will have to check your car for these problems and then hopefully one of them will fix it. I hope this helps and good luck! Linda
