Mitsubishi Repair: Hey Linda.., car person, fuel mix

Hey Linda .by gas i mean i been using 87 octane regular  since i got the car. theres  - Plus is 90 OC.. and Premium unleaded is 93...i feel like my 87 octane is not enough for what my car is able to perform. on the other hand premium 93 is too expensive =\ -plus- seems to be the neutral side. what do you think is the recommended gas for my 98 rs?. if i switch from 87 to 90 octane or above. is that going to damage my engine?.. Also. do you know a site i can find a regular maintentance list. its sort of modded so i would love my car to last me a long time.. Ive heard eclipses break easily after 100k.. Please prove me wrong :) i really like my dsm.. id really appreciate your help/time.

Walter: Had to have been an American made car person that told you that Eclipses break easily after 100k. Right? I had one that what had over 165,000 miles on it and still going strong. I sold the car to another person, ah woman. Sometimes even though I am a woman; I wonder about the female sex well some of them. She ran the car with the oil light on for a lot of day and finely showed up wanting to know what that light was for. I thought oh dear, but added some oil; later did an oil change on the car and that little car is still going strong. Yes, you got to treat them good but still they will go for miles after that big 100,00 mile mark. Well, if you run it through water, beat it to death and treat it like dirt, no then. But still sounds like you treat your car good, with the fuel mix first and see how the car runs. Then try adding a bit more of the fuel you want to run and see how the engine runs. I thought maybe you were thinking of the new fuel, made with corn and that is very hard on an engine. Your car has to be set up for that fuel. Maintentance list, I shall look but right now; no don't know of one. You could do a hunt on the net and see what kicks out. If I get time I will look too, got to help my son move this week-end but see about later. I shall look though. That is a promise. So have a good week-end.... :~). Hope this helps and good luck! Linda
