Mitsubishi Repair: GDI, crank sensor, mistubish

Question
Hi,
I just bought myself a NICE Mistubish Space Wagon - 1998/1999.......
Drove it so well for the first 3200 KMs after I got it from Hong Kong! 3 days ago, I was driving back home then I noticed it lost power - and the next thing it went off. Now it cant start!
Would you be kind enough to help me know what the problem could be. Am in the bush - about 870 Kms away from home and am just here with my wife!
HELP!!!!!!

Answer
Justine: Check the cables on the battery, sometimes if one is loose the car will just stop running. Aother thing is if your car has a distributor cap, try taking that loose and turning it either to the left or right. There is a crank sensor in the distributor cap, if you turn it sometimes the car will start. If you lost power could be the car needs a new fuel filter or could be the fuel pump has gone out. To bad you can't get the car coded as that is when you hook the car's computer up to another computer; then the car's computer will kick out the problem in the system. But no way to do that. Check to make sure all the stark plug wires are tight, all going from the stark plugs to the distributor cap. Are you getting stark to the plugs? Trying taking a stark  plug out and have your wife turn the car over; do you see the stark or not. There is so many different things that could be wrong with your car. I just gave you some ideas, if none of these work. Write me again and I shall send you some more. Hope this helps and good luck! Linda
