Mitsubishi Repair: 4G 2006 GT Temperature Console Display Issue, newer cars, best bet

Question
Hello,

Not sure if you are familiar with the 4g's yet but the other day while detailing the interior of my car, my temperature display failed to work. Prior to noticing this I pulled the fuses that control the radio/dome lights (which there is a premade block to pull), after that I noticed that it no longer displayed. I have already gone back and checked the fuses to make sure nothing is blown.

I was going to call Mitsu but they were closed today, so someone on Club4geclipse recommended I check this site.

What gives?

Thanks in advance for advice!

Answer
Brian: Oh this is a pretty new car.. so my guess would maybe a relay has burnt out. Or it could be a wire has come loose. Your best bet is to take it back to the dealer and let them check it out. I mostly work on older Mitsubishi. But I don't want you to think this site is not good. The relays are in a black box in the engine area. I can not believe that they would have removed them in these newer cars. With this holiday week-end, I would wait and check with the dealer on Tuesday. You could check the relays, if you find one that is bad, though. You must unhook the neg cable to replace the bad relay if you find one and then put the cable back on when done. Sometimes relays just go, they could be weak from the plant and then blow at a later date. It is the only thing I can think of if the fuses are ok. I hope this helps some and good luck! Linda
