Mitsubishi Repair: Problems With 1993 Eclipse GS, auto check, gas tank

Ok I have a 1993 Eclipse Gs and it was sat for 7 years with a 1/4 tank of gas in it so i changed the gas tank and fuel pump. And now i had the computer fixed and i just got it started and it will not move. When I put it in gear i can have my foot all the way to the floor and it sits at a 1000RMP and will not move at all. So if you any suggestions please tell me

Steven: You do not say if this car is an auto or a stick. If an auto, then check the fluid in the transmission, that could be your problem. A stick, well I would say that the clutch is not doing anything. If the car is lock into a gear well not moving it could be caused from missing a lock pin or interlock pin is missing. But if the car does not move when you put it into gear, then your problems lay within the transmission. Again if a auto, check that fluid if low, not pink in color well then you need to change the fluid and the filter to see if that will help. If a clutch, can you move the car by hand if you take the car out of gear? Or is the car locked into a gear and therefore you can not move it? Then you need to check that transmission. Without an idea of which transmission you have, it is hard for me to really give you to much in the way of ideas. Other than what I just did. I hope this helps you some and good luck! Linda
