Mitsubishi Repair: Transmission problem, mitsubishi eclipses, honda prelude

Question
I own a 2000 Honda Prelude (Non SH) with a manuel transmission.  Shifting gears 1 thru 4 with no problem but when shifting into 5th gear and going over 45 mph I hear and feel a grinding noise but I am still able to shift it into gear.  Also after shifting out of 4th gear and before shifting into 5th gear I let the rpms drop to almost idling at any speed and I have no problems.  This is an intermittent problem.  Similar symptoms occurred several months back and cleared up.  I also noticed transmission fluid leaking from the transmission during the first occurrence.  Not sure if the leakage had something to do with it. Please help.

Answer
Jesse: I work on  older Mitsubishi Eclipses and I am not sure if your Honda is anything like the Mitsubishi. So I would take your car to a shop, explain your problems and see what they say. Could be your need a new clutch or it could be a seal is leaking. You could have the starting of a bearing going out. You really need to have this checked out at a shop it could save you a lot of money in the long run. Hope this helps some and good luck! Linda
