Mitsubishi Repair: 96 mitsubishi 3000gt sL, mitsubishi 3000gt, shifting gears

im having trouble shifting gears, it needs to be rev in high rpm before it change to the next gear i know its not normal..
whats  the best way to fix this problem aside from changing new trans? tnx

Ginno: Is this an auto transmission or a stick? If it is an auto, have your checked the fluid level, the color and does it smelled burnt. You could have the fluid and filter of the transmission changed. That will sometimes fix the problem. Or it could be that you have a sensor out that controls the shifting. You know not say which gear that the transmission is having this problem in. If an auto, I would try the changing of the fluid and the filter to see what happens.Also check and make sure that you are using the right transmission fluid for your car. Work with it some before you decided to get a different transmission but it is always better to rebuild your own then buy another one. And if a clutch, you might need a new clutch. But either way a shop will have to check that out for you. I hope this helps you some and good luck! Linda
