Volvo Repair: 94 850 wagon power window., lube job, weatherstripping

Question
Driver's power window will go down every time I push the button, but not up.  I have to fidget with the button and pull on the window.  After screwing around with both, it will finally go back up no problem. I don't think it's the motor because when it does go up, it works like normal.  What's up with that?

Sounds like the tracks/fitting was just starting to get worn in.  The weatherstripping puts up much more resistance going up than down so thats usually what causes it to go down but not back up again.  You probably just got it loosened up.  If it happens again you may want to pull the door panel off and give all the hinges/linkage a lube job and pry on the weatherstripping to make sure it is loose against the window.
