how do you get the fuel filter off on a 2001 montero /

James: You will not like my answer but you need to buy yourself a repair manual for your car. Most parts stores have them for around $20.00. It will explain everything for your car and most likely things you did not want to know. I mostly work on old Eclipses. I will say with the older cars that fuel filter is not something that is easy to get off. And so you might have to go to a shop to get them to do that for you.
