Mitsubishi Repair: 2000 Galant, transmission fluid, galant

Hi, have a 2000 Galant and it seems to "jump" when at a stop and is funny getting out of 2nd gear. Alot of sshaking going on. Where should I begin to look?? 3.0 engine. Please, any info will help

Michael: I would take the car into a shop and get the transmission fluid and filter changed to see if that would help at all. When you check the fluid does it smell burnt or is it brown in color? Other wise this is some problem with your transmission. Could be something like a bad switch or something as bad as one of the gears in the transmission going out. Galants have some recalls on them, maybe you should try running that on line and see what happens. This might be a recall problem with the company. But first try changing the transmission fluid and filter to see if that helps at all. Hope this helps and good luck! Linda :o)
