Mitsubishi Repair: Triton 3L v6 over-revving, throttle position sensor, mitsubishi triton

Question
I have a '92 mitsubishi triton 3L v6, done many kms but recent started idleing at about 1800-2000 revs and just gets higher the warmed the engine gets. I was wondering if i need to reset the computer or if it may be something else. I am selling it anyway so am really just looking for a quick fix, any advice is welcome.

Answer
Tomas: You need to have your car coded, AutoZone will do this for free. And then that would rule out any problem with the computer or a weak sensor someplace. It sounds like something is going on with your throttle position sensor, or maybe your throttle needs to be rejusted. But then you know that Mitsubishi farmed out the building of their computers to another company that did not build very good ones. With time a piece will start to leak into the computer and then kills it off. One of the ways that shows up is with things like your car is doing now. But taking it to AutoZone would tell you if your computer was going or having problems. Or a sensor going someplace. I hope this helps and good luck! Linda
