Mitsubishi Repair: Brake sign is on. Whats the reason?, mitsubishi eclipse, gas tank

Question
HI! I have Mitsubishi Eclipse 1998 and the last week when I start the car the brake sign is always on. But when I drive some time (time can be different) the light goes off. And then I for example go to the gas station to fill up the gas tank, turn off the engine, start the car- the light is on again! I'm very confused about why could this be? I'd appreciate if you could give me an idea. Thank you!

Answer
Yana,
If you're referring to the Brake light on the dashboard, that comes on for a couple reason,  Firstly, it will come on when the parking brake is engaged.  Second, the light will come on when the brake fluid level is too low.  My guess is that your fluid is too low and you'll need to add enough fluid until it's at the full mark.  Your owners manual will tell you exactly what fluid you need and where to add it.
Good luck!
