Mitsubishi Repair: 96 Eclipse Spyder Leaky Top, eclipse spyder, many cars

Question
I have a 1996 eclipse spyder and the convertible top leaks... a lot.  When i first bought the car about 5 years ago i sent it back numerous times for it, they would align it and it would stop leaking for a week or so then start again.  Eventually I deemed it pointless to keep sending and back, plus the warranty ran out haha.  About 2 years ago someone broke in by slashing the top and insurance bought me a knew one.  The car still leaks excessively i think most of it comes from around the front windows.  I was just curious if there are any remedies at all and if buying new gaskets is the most viable solution.   Thanks for any input, Adam

Answer
Adam: Love to help you with this but not much luck. I did run a check on line with the hopes that someone might have found something. Only one idea was to get new rubber seals. Most said they either loved the car or hated it. And most that loved it said you just have to put up with the leaking, keep it in a garage when it rains or only drive it when the sun is out. So that will not be very good help for you. Sorry. I guess I would try the rubber seals or gaskets. It is a nice looking car and sound like it a really fun to drive; so maybe you could put up with the leaking. I mean how many cars are easy on fuel and fun to drive too? Not many. Sorry wish I could have done more for you. Have a good week-end, stay out of Iowa as it is rainning here. lol. Linda
