Mitsubishi Repair: Power steering problem, power steering pump, steering wheel

Question
When i turn my car on most of the times a loud screech will come out from under the hood when i start to turn the steering wheel. I have checked my fluid for it and it is fine but i lose a little bit of steering. It is really loud and the wheel is hard to turn. what can it be?

Answer
Michael: One of three things, the belt is slipping. So replace the power steering belt. Or the power steering pump is not pumping like it should and so that makes the belt slip. Or there could be a bearing in one of the pieces the belt runs on, that is going out so the noise. I would check the belt, really look at it and then if it needs replacing, replace it. See if that helps with the noise, if not then go on to the power steering pump well have a shop that check for you and then if not that then it will be the bearing. I hope this helps and good luck!
